Queen Carol will

Umatilla County Pioneers Association's Pioneer Picnic, June 1, 2002 |
| Carol's family has been well
represented for many generations as a strong pioneer family in Weston
and Umatilla County. Her Great Grandparents and Grandparents on both her
mother's and father's side lived in Weston. Her parents (Evelyn Sowers
Greer and Cecil Greer) both attended Weston Schools and graduated in the
same class in 1926.
They lived in the Greer family homestead throughout Carol's early
childhood. Her Great Grandmother Mary Waddingham was Umatilla Pioneer
Queen in 1938. Two of her Great Aunts, Rose Waddingham Ross and Anna
Waddingham King were also Queens. The next
generation was represented by Carol's Aunt Vida Greer McLean and then in
more recent years her Cousin Juanita King Jennings. Carol's
son Gary was ring bearer for Aunt Anna King the year she was Queen.
Cecil Greer, Carol's father served as both President and Grand
Marshal for the event.
